The EU in Moldova - settling conflicts neighbourhood english The European Security Strategy states that enlargement brings the EU closer to 'troubled areas' in its neighbourhood and that it' is in the European interest that countries on the EY's borders are well-governed.Neighbours who are engaged in violent conflict, weak states where organized crime flourishes, dysfunctional societies (...) all pose problems for Europe. Enlargement not only brings i new states with a grater knowledge of this conflicts and who are equipped with a greater sense of urgency to deal with them. Nicu Popescu
